Settled by Loyalist and Scottish immigrants in the late 18th century, today Glengarry is home to people of many descents, and boasts an impressive sporting heritage.
Glengarry hosts one of the world’s largest Highland Games and is home to several world class champions. The sports that our athletes play are as varied as the people themselves and many of our athletes have merited recognition in activities such as hockey, golf, equestrian, curling, lacrosse, target shooting, figure skating, boxing, rowing, football, canoeing, skiing, power lifting, soccer, track & field, and taekwon-do, and many more.
You’ll find within this site an average of 5 inductees per year starting in 1979. Some are NHL, CFL, or Olympic athletes, others are community leaders who have contributed to the sporting culture, and all have a strong link to this community and area.
