Induction Process

                Criteria for Induction
Any person who is a Glengarrian by birth, or a long-time resident of the County and who has been distinguished in a field of athletic endeavour, as a participant, organizer, or builder shall be eligible for induction into the Hall of Fame
Non-residents are also eligible if a significant part of their athletic endeavors took place in Glengarry.

Candidates for induction shall be chosen on the basis of their ability, integrity, sportsmanship, character, skill, and leadership while participating in their athletic activity.
A candidate can be inducted posthumously.

                The Induction Process
The process begins when the candidate’s written resume is submitted directly to the Hall to the secretary of the Hall of Fame, or to one of the Directors, or to the Historian, or through the form lower down on this page, or through the email contact on our web page.

All resumes are kept on file and are reviewed every year when the year’s inductees are chosen.
Candidates who fail to be selected in any one year remain on file and eligible in all future years.

Each year the Directors meet and, by secret ballot, choose that year’s inductees.

Factors, other than athletic accomplishments, which may be considered by the Directors when voting, are male/female ratios, fair representation of inductees from all parts of Glengarry, the age of the candidate and the necessity of recognizing athletes from past eras.

                Submitting a Resume
Following are the Guidelines for nominating someone for induction into the Glengarry Sports Hall of Fame.

The nominator must include their own name, address, phone number and email address, if available.

The name, present address, phone number and email address of the candidate, or that of his or her substitute if the candidate is unavailable or deceased.

Whereas being nominated is a special honour, please indicate in considerable detail why you feel your nominee merits consideration. Base this on such things as participation, excellence, accomplishments, unique qualities, organizational ability, character and similar qualities.

Your completed document may be sent to the Hall of Fame in the following ways:
